BITSO

Brand Strategy & Product Launch — LATAM Fintech Unicorn

THE PROBLEM WORTH SOLVING

Crypto's mainstream adoption problem it's trust. Bitso, Latin America's largest crypto exchange, was growing fast but operating in a category defined by volatility, complexity and institutional skepticism. The challenge: build a brand strong enough to make cryptocurrency feel credible and accessible to mainstream LATAM consumers, not just early adopters, across four countries simultaneously.

THE INSIGHT THAT UNLOCKED IT

Most fintech brands in LATAM try to out-tech the competition. The insight: Bitso's real differentiator wasn't technology, it was understanding. The consumers most valuable to Bitso weren't crypto natives, they were financially curious, digitally comfortable people who'd never trusted a traditional bank to work for them. Bitso's job was to be the brand that understood that frustration and offered a genuinely different relationship with money.

WHAT I DID

Led brand strategy development across Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Colombia, qualitative and quantitative research synthesis, brand positioning, tone of voice, messaging architecture and market-specific adaptations. Created the name and positioning for Bitso+, the platform's first yielding product (Bitcoin and Ethereum yield accounts), including go-to-market strategy and launch narrative.

THE IDEA IT BECAME

A consumer-first brand built on clarity and credibility, stripping away crypto jargon to speak directly to a generation of LATAM consumers who were financially underserved, not financially illiterate. Bitso+ launched as an approachable, straightforward way to make your money work, positioned for people who'd never considered crypto investment, not for those who already had.

WHAT HAPPENED

  • Bitso established as LATAM's most credible and consumer-friendly crypto brand

  • Bitso+ successfully launched — first yielding product for a unicorn-stage fintech across four markets

  • Brand guidelines, tone of voice and messaging architecture adopted across all regional markets

  • Strategic framework supported Bitso's continued growth trajectory and regional expansion
